Are there any limits on how many times I can check my mail?

There are no limits on the number of POP3/IMAP checks you can make on a per hour or per domain basis. There is a limit on the number of open concurrent connects that you can have open on a single email account.

You can have a maximum of 16 concurrent connections open at one time. Typically, a mail client such as Outlook or Mac Mail will use 4 connections each. This means that you may have 4 different mail applications open checking the same email account.
