I can send emails but not receive them - no settings have been changed. (Linux users)

Q. I can send emails but not received them - no settings have been changed. (Linux users)

A. The most likely cause of this problem is that your account has exceeded the disk space quota for the package you have. You can check your space usage by logging into your cpanel.

You should look to clear some space via the following methods:

1. Ensure your email program (Outlook, Outlook Express, Mail etc.) is set to remove downloaded emails from the server. If you have multiple email addresses at the domain you will need to check each.

2. In cpanel empty your Spam Box by selecting the Mail menu from the cpanel front page and the select the 'Spam Assassin' option. If the next page reads 'Spam Box is currently enabled' you will need to press the 'Clear Spam Box' button at the end of the screen.

3. You may need to set your email program to download emails from the default email account. They username and password for this are the same as those used to access cpanel and FTP.

4. Remove any unwanted files from your FTP account.

If these steps do not resolve the issue you may need to upgrade your package to one with a larger allocation of disk space.
