What is SMTP?
SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. The standard Internet protocol that electronic mail (email) clients use to send email messages.

What is POP3?
POP3 stands for Post Office Protocol 3. The standard Internet protocol that electronic mail (email) servers use to hold emails. Basically your POP3 mailbox is just like an ordinary mailbox for regular post.
